In Beetlejuice, Otho summoned the ghosts of Barbara and Adam Maitland, then unwittingly performed an exorcism, causing Barbara and Adam to age and decay. Lydia Deetz summoned the bio-exorcist Beetlejuice to help the Maitlands. Beetlejuice appeared with a carousel hat on his head and inflatable sledgehammers at the end of his long arms.
